Battery Use for Parks on the Air and Roving

During Parks on the Air events I typically operate at 50 Watts output  on the FT 891.  The battery consumption is within the range of 11-12 Amps at 50 watts and 15 Amps at 100 Watts. At the 50 watt setting I can easily get about 2 hours of operation time on the 12 V 18 ABH Life PO4 battery, which only  weighs 4 pounds.

During Rover Set up I will operate at 50 Watts on 2Mtr and 100 Watts on 6 Meters. I will typically use  the 35 AMP Deep Cycle Battery  from Interstate which will provide over 3 hours of service.
