SJRA K2AA Activation
Planned for March 9th - Wharton State Forest
Hello fellow club operators, and friends, we did this last year in January, and I am planning for this again during March 9th as a Parks on the Air Park Activation and SJRA event, with a weather break during March. We need a minimum of (4) operators including myself. If you can not participate please take a few moments and contact us on the air during March 9th. This year we would like to include VHF 6 Mtrs- 2 Mtrs and 70Cm.
Please let me know if you are interested in participating in this event for 2024. I am planning for the Saturday morning of March 9th This year this would be especially important with the recent fatal 6ABC Helicopter crash in the Pine barrens, and we would pay our respects and memorialize the pilot, 67-year-old Monroe Smith, and the photographer, 45-year-old Christopher Dougherty, who died in the crash in the Wharton State Forest., and Emilio Carranza the Historical Mexican pilot.
This is a SJRA K2AA POTA Activation and we are looking to have (4) operators on HF, each with a table, we also need a CW Operator and we can also include VHF operator.
Meet at the Spot in the Morning 9:00 AM - set up table and antennas - memorialization and lay flowers at the site.
Plan to active (4) Bands on HF
We need a CW Operator
We need a VHF low signal operator
Operate for 2 hours with Call sign K2AA on each band
Planned Date Saturday Feb 17th - back up date March 2nd
You don't have to be a club member to participate, all are welcome to get out of the house during March and play radio, even if it's only for 1 hour or so.
